Happy New Year!

Ciao from Monzuno! One of my resolutions this year is to spend less time on facebook and to start posting again on this site. Not a strong writer, but I do miss expressing myself here and posting photos. Along with speaking in Italian more, I 'll work hard to maintain this promise.

The sunrise this morning, from the kitchen window.

ciao christina!

buon anno 2012. i was at the local library in bordentown, nj and the libriarian who was checking out my son's books asked me what language i was speaking to my son. i told her italian because my son is half italian and that we just resettled back in the states. she asked me where and i told her near bologna in the countryside. she asked me if i knew a christina... i told her that i did not. infact, i did not know any americans since l lived in bologna. well, to make a long story short... i stumbled on your blog this evening. and by your photo... i'm sure that i have seen you. infact, i think that you might have lived in porta san mamolo near via alamandini because i use to live there prior to moving to the countryside in badolo in 2008. i'm saying this because i've seen you walking in via alamandini several times. as you are well aware, bologna is a very small town... furthermore, i recall seeing you and your husband at a graphic studio party in 2006? i noticed you because you were the only other asian person at the party... and very attractive.

well, my son and i have returned to the states. we are staying with my mother in bordentown. you might know of my now ex... mattia ruggeri. he's an artist and a complete f*ck up and that's the reason i left his sorry arse. that's a bit too much information... ha,ha!! but i don't care at this point. i'm so getting over it.

wow, i'm from new jersey as well and i thought that it's bit of a pity that we didn't have the opportunity to meet... while i was still living in bologna. i kinda had a feeling that u were american but i wasn't sure... it was a gut instinct but i was a bit timid so i didn't want to approach u randomly on the street.

anyway, my son cyrus is 4 years old. all the adjustments to being back in the states has been bit of a shock after more than 7 years in italy. we have been back for about 5 months. i miss italy especially, the relaxed lifestyle. i feel like a complete foreigner.

that's great that u live in monzuno... my ex use to live there years ago before i knew him. and my gfriend rajani lives there with her family.

i've enjoyed reading your blog and seeing all the photos. well, i'm glad that i met you finally not in person but virtually. it kinda made me bit sad because too much memories of my former life in italy... but i appreciate it.

thank you.

all my best,
elle
